Claiming an Education
I agree with the author about what it is like being a student at an all women's college and a professor at an all women's college and how the majority of teachers are males. My friend who goes to an all women's college has a majority of male professors and her class sizes tend to be between 15-20 students. With classes being that small and women's colleges tend to have a smaller population I can understand why most college professors would not want to teach there.
Cultural Literacy
I agree with some of Hirch's methods about how children should learn important facts about history and important leaders. I do not agree with him about how they should learn from a specific list. I also do not agree that the only way to learn is through memorization. Children learn information different ways memorization does not work for everyone. I also do not agree that Americans should only learn his list because there is more information to learn than just on the list.
